ProACT Powder

Dairy in Saskatchewan that have 800 cows. In the past they were experiencing scouring calves.  The condition was due to Rotavirus.  Basically every calf once on milk replacer would have scours.

Once they added the ProACT powder to the milk replacer daily, there have been a significant decrease in diarrhea.  Maybe 1/30 calves will have scours now as opposed to every calf.  These producers are happy with the product and continue to buy it.

Another dairy producer told me that he could see a difference in the haircoat when his calves were on product.  They looked healthier.  He also commented that he treats less for diarrhea.  And he said that they do not have the potbelly look when on ProACT in the milk replacer.

Intended Use

Use of product in swine barns has focused on sows. The powder is given in the ration 3-5 days prior to farrowing and then throughout lactation. What has been noticed is that the sows are less likely to decrease feed consumption, are healthier and breed back at a higher rate.  The piglets have been noticed to be weaning at higher weights.
